Two members of Marshall University's women's basketball coaching staff were recently tabbed among the nation's elite.

Head coach Royce Chadwick and assistant John McGraw were selected in the top 10 of the National Basketball Insider coach rankings according to the NBI Web site.

Actress Carrie Preston did not know what to think when producer Alan Ball approached her about playing the role of Arlene Fowler in the TV series "True Blood."

"I was cast in this movie of his called 'Towel Head;' and while we were shooting, he said he was doing a pilot for HBO about vampires, which I thought was a little surprising because I knew what he had done before, and it was kind of a departure," Preston said.

Born and raised in Georgia, Hybl came to the University on a golf scholarship in 2000 and was one of the most decorated players in Bulldog golfing history before becoming an assistant coach in 2005.

But just last week, Hybl was named the head golf coach at the University of Oklahoma.

Senate bill aids families of children with autism

Governor Joe Manchin visited Marshall's campus to sign a bill, the first of its kind, to aid families of children with autism Tuesday.

Senate Bill 1009 awards a tax deduction of up to $2,000 per year for families of children with autism when they contribute to a trust fund established for when the children become adults.
